Radical SR3 teams smash race record, and take 1st and 2nd at ARDC six hour relay race at Eastern Creek International Raceway
Three teams of radical SR3's completed the gruelling Australian Racing Drivers Club 6 hour relay race, coming home 1st, 2nd and 5th. The team of Wayne Jones' "Maximum Radical" completed 204 laps for victory, eclipsing the record of the event previously known as the Aroca 6 hour relay of 199 laps.
Fastest lap of the race of 1.35.66 went to Ed Singleton in his radical SR3 1300. Eight of the ten radical drivers including singleton broke the existing race lap record of 1:39:86.
The team of Garth Walden's "Extreme Radical" finished second with 203 laps, one lap ahead of previous winner and lap-record holders Hibbard Motorsport in their GT2/GT3 Porsches.
The third team of John Ramage's "Totally Radical" finished 5th at 197 laps completed
1st place: "Maximum Radical" - drivers Ed Singleton /Glyn Edis/Paul Serra/Phil Anseline
2nd place: "Extreme Radical" - drivers Peter Opie/Chris Medland/Trevor Gerber /Phil Anseline
3rd place: Hibbard Motorsport [gt3 porsche team] drivers Hibbard/Bolinowsky/Wakefield
5th place: "Totally Radical" - drivers Byron Smith/ Basil Mondello/Geoff Brunsdon
This was the motorsport debut for Radical Australia, and chairman and co-owner Greg Smith was estatic with this record-breaking result.
